The Art Installer will maintain the Art Collection at UHW and install art exhibitions. The Art Collection has been central to the work of WHAT since its inception and, over the last 28 years, has grown to over 600 works on display at the hospital. Through the collection, WHAT aims to soften the clinical environment and relieve stress and anxiety at what can be a difficult time. The collection also provides an opportunity for patients and their families to engage with contemporary art, which is further enhanced through an engaging and exciting programme of temporary exhibitions at the hospital, curated by WHAT, in addition to the permanent collection.
Claire Meaney, Director of WHAT, says “The Art Installer and Assistant Art Curator at University Hospital Waterford are important members of the team at WHAT. The roles involve liaising with various departments within the hospital to ensure the Art Collection is maintained and presented to a high standard. These are very rewarding roles where the right people have the opportunity to witness firsthand the benefits of displaying visual art in various healthcare settings. If anyone would like to have a chat about the roles before applying, or would like more information, please contact us on 051 842664 / claireA.firstname.lastname@example.org”
