WHAT is delighted to showcase the work of Marley Irish on the Staff Art Wall from 6 Oct to 8 Dec 2017.
Dance of Colours, a new exhibition of paintings by artist and nurse Marley Irish, has opened at University Hospital Waterford and continues until 8 December. Showcasing some of Marley’s most recent works, this exhibition is part of Waterford Healing Arts Trust’s Staff Art Wall, which celebrates creativity among the staff of the hospital.
Marley Irish has dedicated the past 33 years to the nursing profession. She has worked in all areas of University Hospital Waterford and currently works in the Dermatology department. When not nursing, Marley paints from her studio, St Ives Gallery, Slieverue, County Kilkenny. She is well known for her use of vibrant colours and depictions of exciting movement, and this exhibition features tango dancers and ballerinas, among others. Working primarily in oils, acrylic and mixed media, the beautiful forms of ballerinas are highlighted by the lovely hue of skin tone and mix of the phthalo blue tones in the background, while Marley’s tango dancers are strong in tone and character.
The Staff Art Wall is a series of art exhibitions by HSE staff members on view at University Hospital Waterford which is curated by Waterford Healing Arts Trust. For further information please contact WHAT on 051 842664 or e-mail WHAT@hse.ie
